Bianca’s Book Review: “I Bet You” by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Waylon University Book 2

I’m afraid this is a very short review, even for me, because the story doesn’t stand out. While the heat and steam levels are nice, there’s nothing else that gets the pulse going.

Ryder Voss is the college football quarterback. He’s one of the guys. They like to have fun, place bets to push each other and don’t give a damn about the consequences.

Penelope Graham is the smart girl, wannabe romance writer, and lover of sparkly vampires. She knows the score when it comes to football players. Her father was one and abandoned her and her mother as soon as his career beckoned. So she’s reluctant to be drawn in by Ryder’s charm but accepts his help to win over the guy she does want.

This book was less enjoyable than the first one despite, a greater humour element. I won’t go into too much detail, but the pool table scene is hilarious.

The story brings nothing new to college football romance. The plot covers the expected and the characters are pretty cookie cutter. If you’re looking for something easy to read that ticks all the usual boxes, go for it. If you’re looking for something different and intense then look elsewhere.

Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Feels: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heat: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
