Bianca’s Book Review: “The Hating Game” by Sally Thorne

Oh, how I love Lucy Hutton and Josh Templeman. If you want a slow burn romance with all the feels, then this is the couple who will give it to you.

The writing style makes this quite difficult to get into because it’s very chaotic. I’m not certain if it’s deliberate because it’s told from Lucy’s POV and she can also be described as chaotic. She’s also blind to her feelings and those of others. How she couldn’t see the obvious, I had no idea.

Then again, if she were a little more observant then we wouldn’t have this funny and swoon-worthy story in the first place. As I mentioned, it’s a slow burn, but Josh and Lucy are worth the wait.

In the meantime, there are snarky comments, smouldering stares, sneaky side glances, jealous outbursts and feisty arguments to keep the reader enthralled in the enemies to lovers plot.

Plus, there are also some hilarious and touching scenes which provide the cherry on top of a very enjoyable read.
