This is not my favourite romance trope. There’s something a bit sordid about the boss/assistant affair, which I’m never fully on board with.
This novel, however, is hot, hot, hot. And contains all the usual boardroom, elevator, and other dirty office assignations. There’s also a hot encounter in the dressing room of a lingerie shop. The tension is sizzling from the very first chapter as Chloe and Bennett engage in a battle of wills that moves the story forward in this fast paced page turner.
The passion between them is so intense at the start. It’s all about fulfilling their physical needs, but then it begins to mellow and develops into tender feelings for each other.
The characters are great. She’s the feisty type who doesn’t put up with his asshole behaviour. He’s the typical alpha male, rich boss, but he is also hardworking, and he likes that she stands up to him.
I enjoyed this book so much I forgot to take proper notes because I became so immersed in the story.
