Shade is a sex demon who works as a paramedic at the underworld hospital he runs with his brothers. He doesn’t normally hook up with humans, especially shy, timid ones, but he can sense Runa’s need, and as an incubus demon he is compelled to satisfy her.
When Runa discovers everything that she believed about Shade is a lie, she runs away and her life is never the same again.
An angry ex is the least of Shade’s problems, what with a curse hanging over his head. When he and Runa are imprisioned and forced to mate for life, they must find a way to work out their differences and save Shade from a fate worse than death.
Larissa Ione expands her Demonica world in this second book. We find out more about the underworld and demons, as well as Shade and his brothers. Plus, the secondary characters are filled out and come alive, with their own stories to to enjoy.
It is very easy to become fully immersed in this fantastical world. Again, the heat levels are very high. This story features a little BDSM, which gives it a darker edge than the first book. Plus, there’s plenty of action and intrigue to make this a genuine page turner.
