Fulton U Book One
Reece Michaels and Persephone Alexander are complete opposites. He’s the football player who wants to go pro and won’t let anything, including his personal life, stand in his way. She’s a maths genius, under extreme pressure to graduate early, win the Fuller prize, and live the life her father wants.
They should never have met, but in a case of mistaken identity they do after Seph puts out an advert to find someone willing to assist her in losing her virginity. This is just one thing on her list of firsts she wants to complete as a means of rebellion against her controlling dad, before she starts the life he has planned for her.
Reece offers to help her with the list, but not the sex. He can’t afford to get entangled in a relationship, which we all know means he’s going to fall hard.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved Reece and Steph, they were so different but they clicked on another level. God, he was so adorable as he helped her tick off the items on her list. Seph is so controlled by her father she’s barely living and experiences everything with such enthusiastic joy that’s endearing.
It was also nice to see Steph grow in confidence and become less of a doormat with everyone as the story progressed. I was a bit disappointed with the ending though, as we didn’t really see her have it out with her dad. It was revealed in a quick snippet told in flashback in the epilogue. I would have preferred it in real-time and for her to really give it to him. Instead it felt like a tame round up that was resolved too quickly.
Other than that, this story drew me in from the start and I whizzed through it. It’s a slow building of tension between them as they fight against their attraction, but we’re rewarded with plenty of steamy scenes in the second half. I’ll certainly read the rest of the series as the secondary characters in this are well developed and I want to know more.
