It’s All in the Eyes: My Celebrity Crush

Iā€™ve been dreading this book and more blog hop post all month. I feel like Iā€™m at school again, being forced to do homework in my least favourite subjects, like religious studies or maths.

This week, Viviana MacKade asked us to reveal our celebrity crush, and Iā€™m cringing. Iā€™m not comfortable with this. I feel too old to have a celebrity crush, but at the end of the day itā€™s just a little harmless fantasy, so here we goā€¦

Iā€™ve had plenty of celebrity crushes over the years. It started with Christian Slater when I was in my teens, then moved on to Matthew Perry. However, Iā€™m not sure it counts because it was Chandler, rather than dear Matthew, I liked.

There was a bit of Ewan McGregor during my university years (which included a giant poster of him above my bed), but I know someone whoā€™s met him and, apparently, heā€™s very arrogant, so that killed that. Will Smith had also been a front-runner since his Fresh Prince days, but thatā€™s died a death since ā€œthe incidentā€.

So, who counts as my current celebrity crush? I don’t know. I refuse to consider anyone under forty. It just feels wrong. That means Michael B Jordan is out (what a shame).

I have two boys, and over the years weā€™ve watched a lot of superhero movies, so there are a few celebs named Chris in the running. Hugh Jackman was up there for a while, but he seems to have faded into the background for me these days.

Chris Evans is lovely (have you seen those eyelashes?), but a bit too pretty. I read that Chris Prattā€™s devoutly religious (this could be speculation but Iā€™m trying to narrow down my choices here), and I donā€™t think weā€™d be compatible, so that leaves Mr Hemsworth. From what Iā€™ve seen on TV and social media, thereā€™s so much to like: Australian, great with his kids, and has a good sense of humour. The height may be an issue, considering heā€™s about 6ā€™5ā€ and Iā€™m 5ā€™1ā€. Hmmā€¦ stepladders may be required.

Wait a minute, I forgot the other Chris, the one with the startling blue eyes. Yes, Mr Pine is the Chris for me. Iā€™ll watch him in anything. This blog hop is making me reveal many titbits and I guess Iā€™ll have to admit, Iā€™m a Star Trek fan and I love his James Tiberius Kirk reboot.

So, what promised to be a difficult post has turned into a nice little wander into fantasy land with Mr Pine, his rugged handsomeness, and his mesmerising blue eyes. Beam me up (with Mr Pine), Scotty!

Whoā€™s your celebrity crush? Let me know in the comments and find out which celebs catch the eyes of the other blog hoppers.

Oh, I forgot Ryan Reynolds.

  1. Anyone under 35 is an absolute no for me too. Major cringe. And yes to all the Chris out there. Iā€™m with you there. Not Chris Pine, though, as he looks a lot like my brother so, no. Also, your meme game is outstanding
