Well, it’s taken a bit of time and a lot of frustration, but I have finally managed to set up my blog page and here I am posting my first blog.
When I first decided to make dream dream of being a writer come true I had no idea what was going to be involved and how it was going to take over my life. My idea of being a writer was probably the same as many others. Hey, writer get to sit and write, hand over their manuscript to a publisher, then sit back and let them take over while we get on with writing another novel. How wrong I was.
My official writing journey began last summer when I decided I had made enough excuses for not doing it and it was time to erm.. just do it! When I started looking into how to get started, I discovered a whole load of work that writers need to do that doesn’t actually involve writing. Social media, having a blog, promoting your work, networking with other writers and that is only the start.
I came across a lot of sites that provide advice for aspiring writers and they led to others on improving your craft and how to self publish. There is so much out there to help aspiring writers and a lot of it is free which was also handy for me as I have absolutely no budget to invest in my writing.
So, here I am, trying to find my way as a writer. It’s both a scary and thrillling prospect and I look forward to connecting with others on a similar journey.
