Beautiful Disaster Book 2
This is the second book I’ve read recently that tells a story I’ve read before, but this time from the male POV.
On my first read, I loved “Beautiful Disaster”, and I loved Travis Maddox. I was keen to read his story with Abby from his POV. He was so crazy in love with Abby, and my heart just melted for him in the first book. I felt that Abby treated him terribly, at times, but he made his own massive mistakes, too.
In this book, Travis did not let me down. The author doesn’t go through a scene by scene replay of the first novel (which is nice to avoid boredom), but all the significant, angst filled scenes remain. Plus, getting into Travis’s head does help the reader understand his behaviour a little better.
The heat and tension is still here in this version, and a little hotter, because Travis was filled with such longing for Abby. We are given front seats for the emotional rollercoaster Travis experienced when he finally has Abby, and we see how broken he became when he messed up and she left. It was truly heartbreaking.
Abby, being Abby, does get on my nerves a little with her treatment of Travis and how she seems to think it’s okay to go from sleeping with him one night, to dating another guy the next day, and still judging Travis for his “player” behaviour.
Here’s to a warm, familiar read (and no surprises) to cosy up with on a cold weekend.
