My Review: “Duke Of Midnight” by Elizabeth Hoyt

Book 6 Maiden Lane Series

Maximus Batten, Duke Of Wakefield fights against poverty and vice in parliament by day, while by night he does the same as the Ghost of St Giles.

When Miss Artemis Greaves, lowly companion to her rich and beautiful heiress cousin, discovers the Dukes’s secret, she blackmails him to rescue her brother from Bedlam, where he is incarcerated for lunacy and murder.

I’m struggling to find something to write about this book. Don’t get me wrong, I liked this book. It was a very nice love story.

I liked the characters. Artemis is strong and intelligent, she wants more than a life as a companion, but accepts her situation without bitterness. Maximus is the typical stuffy duke who places his duty above his personal needs.

The story flowed well, and as with the others in this series the love scenes were hot and steamy.

So, overall this book is nice: Nice love story, nice characters, nice plot.
